The Government of Canada supports the marketing efforts of WaterShed Monitoring

Highly innovative, the young Quebec company targets the information technology sector for producing enduring knowledge in water management

May 25, 2016 – Québec (Quebec) – Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)

The Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, took advantage of her presence at the C2M event to announce that the company WaterShed Monitoring is obtaining $25,000 in financial support. That amount will be used for marketing its computer solutions that enable the acquisition, management and communication of water-related data from the source (lakes, rivers, groundwater) to the tap.

Businesses need adequate resources for creating and marketing their innovative products. The Government of Canada is proud to invest in new SMEs, like WaterShed Monitoring, whose tools contribute to the knowledge economy and to a healthy environment.

Established in 2013, WaterShed Monitoring is the outcome of technological innovations developed by Sonja Behmel, the founder, and her team. These include perfecting the ENKI software, which makes it possible to gather on the same platform data on the analysis and quality of the water.

The financial assistance is awarded in the form of a repayable contribution under the Quebec Economic Development Program. The company will implement a marketing strategy, which includes updating its website and attending specialized shows and symposiums.

CED is one of the six regional development agencies under the responsibility of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development.
