This data, which is reserved for the exclusive use of WaterShed Monitoring, is collected when you fill out an online contact form and when you create an Enki account.

What can we do with the information we collect?

1. Fulfill contractual obligations

We may only process your personal data if we have a lawful reason to do so. Therefore, we will only process your personal data if the processing is necessary to:

We use your personal data to send you alerts and updates about our services based on your preferences and interests. If you subscribe to Enki, we will contact you without obtaining your separate consent to provide you with information about our services.

3. Enhance and build our list of current and prospective clients

As a company, we can only continue to thrive if we vigorously protect our institutional and commercial interests. This includes ensuring that our research and development activities are on the right track, and that our marketing strategies are targeting the right audiences with the right messages. As one of our clients or visitors, your data will be used to help us achieve these goals so that we can continue to offer you the best products and experiences.

4. Provide you with a unique, personalized experience every time

We collect and store certain information that we have collected from you and your devices (including through the use of cookies or other targeting technologies). This allows us to remember your browsing preferences on our site. It also enables us to present you with relevant information tailored to your needs. For more information about our use of tracking technologies, see our section on log files and cookies.

5. Administer, improve, and manage our services

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction; accidental loss or alteration; unauthorized use, disclosure or access, particularly where processing involves data transmission; and against all other unlawful forms of processing and abuse.

You may refuse to provide us with your personal information at any time. However, this may mean that you will be unable to take advantage of all the services WaterShed Monitoring has to offer.

What You Need to Know about Log Files and Cookies

WaterShed Monitoring collects certain information through log files and cookies. This information mainly includes the following:

  • IP address;
  • Operating system;
  • Pages visited and search queries; and
  • Date and time of connection.

Log files and cookies are necessary for statistical purposes and for the proper functioning of our website, insofar as they enable us to do the following:

  • Provide easy and secure browsing;
  • Measure site traffic to manage performance;
  • Troubleshoot and fix bugs and performance issues;
  • Customize your experience and update new features; and
  • Manage your acceptance or rejection of cookies.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small file that asks permission to be placed on the hard drive of your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Placement of the file is contingent on your acceptance, and it then helps us analyze web traffic or informs us when you visit a particular website.

Cookies don’t take up much space and are automatically deleted when they expire. Some expire at the end of your session, while others are retained for a specific period.

What types of cookies do we use?

There are different types of cookies for different purposes. Some allow you to navigate the site and view certain features, while others give us an idea of your browsing experience so that we can improve it and make your future visits as pleasant as possible.

Cookies created by WaterShed Monitoring are called “internal cookies,” while cookies created by other parties are called “third-party cookies.” Third-party cookies enable third-party features or functionality to be available on or through the website (e.g., advertising, interactive content, and analytics). The parties who create them may recognize your computer or mobile phone when used to visit the site in question and some other sites.

We use cookies for several reasons.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential to help you navigate the website and view certain features, such as media plug-ins. They also ensure that your preferences are saved. These cookies are necessary for basic functionality.

In accordance with the provisions of the GDPR, these cookies cannot be deactivated.

Functionality and analytics cookies

These cookies exist to make your customer experience even easier. They enable us to analyze your use of our website in order to evaluate and improve our performance. They may be installed by us or by a third party on our behalf.

How and why do we use cookies?

Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. They allow the web application to tailor its operations to your needs, likes, and dislikes by collecting information about your preferences.

We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us to analyze data about web page traffic and to improve our website to better meet our clients’ needs. This information is used for statistical purposes only.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website and browsing experience by allowing us to monitor which pages are useful to you and which are not. A cookie does not give us access to your computer or to any information about you, other than to such information which you choose to share with us.

What if you don’t like cookies?

You can accept or reject cookies. You can adjust your preferences directly on our website using the CookieYes tool.

Please note, however, that rejecting cookies may prevent you from taking full advantage of the site.

You can also change your browser settings to delete cookies or prevent them from being stored on your computer or mobile device without your permission. Your browser’s help menu should provide information on how to manage these settings.

How often do you update your cookie notice?

We may amend this notice from time to time; for example, if we use different cookies for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. Please check back and review this notice to stay up to date about our use of cookies and other related technologies.

Security

The personal information we collect is stored in a secure environment. The people who work for us are required to respect the confidentiality of your information.

We use the following measures to ensure the security of your personal information:

  • SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) protocol;

  • Network monitoring software;
  • Data backup;
  • Login and password; and
  • Firewalls.

We are committed to maintaining a high level of privacy by integrating the latest technological innovations to ensure the privacy of your transactions. However, since no mechanism is foolproof, there is always an element of risk when using the internet to transmit personal information.

Changes to Our Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy. However, we will not restrict your rights under this policy without your prior consent.
