A New Technological Showcase for WaterShed Monitoring

Quebec City, March 23, 2018 — WaterShed Monitoring is proud to announce financial support worth 285 000 $ from the City of Quebec as part of the Technological Showcase Program (Programme de vitrine technologique). The program will demonstrate how the new features of the Enki™ software, developed and marketed exclusively by WaterShed Monitoring, are adapted to respond to the municipalities’ compliance with the Quebec Government’s Water Withdrawal and Protection Regulation (WWPR).

This technological showcase will allow WaterShed Monitoring to test its innovations regarding water quality management within the real-world context of applied use in the municipal sector in collaboration with the Service de traitement des eaux de la Ville de Québec (Quebec City’s water treatment facility).

Enki is a unique portal that provides access to water-related data and subscribes directly to the Smart Cities/Learning Cities principals. Enki enables the decompartmentalization of the management of data relating to water by means of stocking, exploiting and sharing data and information on water quality, from the catchment to the tap.

«We welcome this gesture of trust from Quebec City. It will serve as a lever to increase the added value of Enki, to hasten the process of its commercialisation and encourage its adoption by Quebec’s municipal stakeholders. » said Sonja Behmel, Ph.D, CEO and co-founder of WaterShed Monitoring. « Thanks to the Technological Showcase Program, we will be in a favorable position to demonstrate that Enki offers a very concrete opportunity to increase productivity and reduce the costs of water management. The project will also enable Quebec City to remain at the cutting edge of technological evolution in this sector and to promote regional expertise across the province. »
