WaterShed Monitoring invited to tour Nevada’s water treatment infrastructures

News release

Québec, September 23, 2019 — WaterShed Monitoring is proud to announce that Mses Sonja Behmel, Ph.D., CEO and cofounder of the company, and Anna Scheili, consultant expert and project manager, will be joining a few other water stakeholders of Québec City area to participate, this coming fall, to a three days educational field trip generously organised by the Southern Nevada Water Authority.

For the occasion, Mses Behmel and Scheili will have the privilege to visit several facilities dedicated to the treatment of water from source to tap and even beyond, since a tour of the wastewater valorization infrastructures is also scheduled. “I’m very honored to accept the invitation extended by the Southern Nevada Water Authority”, said Ms Behmel. “The arid conditions and the heavy population forced the water stakeholders of the region to develop a unique expertise from which WaterShed Monitoring could learn a lot”.

The idea of such a tour was born a year ago when she took part of a trade mission in Nevada. During their coming trip, they both aim to learn more about the challenges of water management in an arid environment and the tools implemented to guaranty supply, minimize losses and raise public awareness on the importance of protecting the resource. Moreover, they would like to seize the opportunity to connect and strengthen the relationships previously established with local water stakeholders in the hope of concluding partnerships for the water data management.
